Italy's PM candidate arrives for talks with president | Bangkok Post: news


ROME - Italy's would-be prime minister Giuseppe Conte headed into talks Wednesday with the country's president who must decide whether to approve his nomination to lead a government formed by far-right and anti-establishment parties. But Conte eventually went into talks with Mattarella at the presidential palace late on Wednesday afternoon. Mattarella must agree to the parties' candidate and ministerial team before they can seek approval for the new government in parliament. Duquesne University told AFP he attended as part of an affiliation with Villa Nazareth, an exchange programme, and did legal research but "was not enrolled as a student". European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker told reporters in Brussels: "We judge governments as governments not on what they announce but on what they will do.
